Bahia Magdalena

& Hull Canal

After a quiet night at anchor, we’ll awake in the protected waters of Bahia Magdalena where shortly after breakfast, we will lift the anchor and begin cruising northward. As always, when we’re underway, you’re encouraged to join us on deck, scanning for marine mammals and a wide variety of birds as we will be cruising through narrow waterways in immediate view of rich and diverse mangrove communities.

We will cruise through Hull Canal and into the northern reaches of Bahia Magdalena through lunch and into the early afternoon en route to Boca de Soledad or “The Mouth of Solitude” where we will then offer two rounds of Zodiac cruises today, and each guest can choose one of these two rounds. Plan to be out in the Zodiacs for just over an hour this afternoon. Be sure to wear several layers to keep you warm and ward off the Pacific chill. Each cruise will be with a naturalist, as well as a local whale-watching guide, so you’ll have expert eyes searching and someone who can answer any questions you may have about the whales, birds and plants of this bay. We’ll also offer an opportunity to walk on the beautiful beaches of Isla Magdalena. You may choose to join us on shore when you’re not out in the Zodiacs. This evening, we will have local musicians performing for us this evening both before and after dinner, so join us in the Lounge.
